my midnight bijou

her heart imbuing with the rise
of evening's sweet, sweet face
and oh, her ghostly, ghostly eyes
reflect its lively grace

of where she ever will remain
and where i long to be
i sense her tragedy and pain
as something within me

there painted beautifully, it dies
through balladry i speak
and soon so fluently in size
the water's shimmer seeks

for how her verging will unchain
a lively, lively dream
she settles comfortably in vain
as cloudiness can scheme

the things she's not apt to let pass
for she is far too bright
the skies aren't quite enough in mass
to ever confess plight

for centuries she's been around
within her mending soul
and though i sense this feeling's bound
toward her beauty's shoal

her breath is as the looking glass
which echoes my own heart
i wish while airing the morass
of life i bleed as art

that i had delicately crowned
the strength she holds within
and uttered kindly with the sound
of love that's always been

nostalgia

my ears ring so often
and i wonder
do you think of me
while swaying in the memory of our last encounter?

i didn't sense i really knew you and maybe
you only thought you knew me

time stole it all away
when you believed me to be
nothing more than an apparition

and now i trust
when you secretly recall
you will never linger too vaguely

but think only that i have always thought
you were simply you
for the sake of me being me.

A Fool's Paradise

I'm dumb
at least
that is what you tell me
with your hands molded
with precise detail
around my heart
and
through
my soul:
the wasteland
you created in your image
 causes me to wonder... why?
why lead us to the slaughter
of every truth when
beauty is so rare to find?
though it was you who
made me this way,
conceived my every thought
and raised me to believe
in only lies
and yet...
I will always
love you for it.

Coffee Shop Poet

 Photobucket
i thought of writing to you today
on the surface of a napkin at the coffee shop
as i got lost in all my thoughts
for all the reason's you hold me together
i held my head inside my hands
then dreamt for awhile as i drifted away
with a cigarette there to calm me
slowly, I thought of the things i could say
but my pen refused to move
and i wondered why, what the hell?!
but things like that may have no reason
so i figured to myself "oh well"
so you see what i'm trying to say
it's the thought that counts and not some stupid poem
but now i wonder what i would've wrote
and what you would never know

Beyond The Beckoning Of Age

Of lovely life that lies awake within
Your fairness there, not blemished nor betrayed
O by the night with candle glowing kin
To cast what depth your soul shall never trade

For sheerness lost in wonderment through death
Do tell me when it is that I may see
By beauty dawned upon this earthly breath
Dear tender love the life you breathe in me

And for your splendor I may cast away
My hopeless thoughts of words into adieu
I've longed in lifetimes long before this day
That you and I by blessings carried through

Shall not deny what merges us to coil
Against the fates and time that solely wage
Their test to see our brightest dreams un-foil
Far beyond the beckoning of age

Dream Not (Of That Anxious Sleep)

oh, dream not of that anxious sleep
whence tender tears run warm, i'll weep
to follow eastern sun into
a beauty revealed by morning dew

like angel's lips you release my pain
to cease my thoughts of anger's peak
if 'morrow comes before the rain
oh, dream not of that anxious sleep

lo! our love will not unravel
that dream that glows of winter's touch
we'll lead that trail on which we travel
to solemn birth of life and such

so all that wonder across the skies
of night does hold what things we'll reap
within this hour of hopeful sighs
oh, dream not of that anxious sleep
