when you come my way

i sense your grace and it goes away
my heart can take no more
will you be there the day i need you the most
for the beauty you hold, i pour
my thoughts in solace and from my heart
through the haze of this debris
which whisper to me that you're utterly there
as you loom so silently
i wonder if you see me in my soul
and all that i still go through
and know of the time that i will let go
when you fall into my view

there's nothing i'd ever deny you now
if you would gently say
you'd ease my confusion and my doubt
oh, death when you come my way

The Cup We Thirst

as tongues place themselves

in positions to create

awkward silences

that refuse to break

and all the things

that conjure

endeavors in the air

serve a bitter notion

simplicity is rare

complication is question

of reason to pursue

answers that

make no sense

and die untrue

throughout the ripples

of longing for the universe

to measure us by

the cup we thirst

'til time ticks away

and turns us to dust

  unto our final hours

into the earth's crust

and stars carry away

our memory in time

  to deem all the ways

we'd be immortalized

  'cause things like that

are in the nature of humans

unless we are but

creatures unproven

to worthiness

destined to lose throughout

the cost of things

we are without

and a poet's mark is

justified deep in

the thoughts that make

him passionate

same as a thousand

painters who

build like bricks

things to be expressed

beyond any word

for we long to be measured

by the cup we thirst

"The intimacy of divine intervention
will blossom like a rose
and bloom for every moment
I kiss your heart with my soul"
-for Amber

In loneliness I have awaken
Oh, how it is I long
The preciousness deep in the hours
of my dear sweet AmberDawn
Her voice echoes in my head
In memory I know her beauty
To hold her close in soothing silence
While angels cry in all their envy
It's in her words that I've placed my trust
This girl whose soul is so familiar
A love that lies within our confessions
I pray that she knows how I do need her
I kiss her heart with whispered wishes
In moments I find she's known such pain
and promise to her for every moment
She's stolen my fears and doubts away
Within her nature I've seen such kindness
This gorgeous creature who I adore
and I've imagined her dancing alone
In the rain as her spirit shines and soars
Sweet grace how heaven has sung for her
To add to her elegance a lovely smile
and I know she holds the key to my dreams
I'd be honored to make her life worthwhile

My World Without Poetry

Now if this world would lack upon its face
A single trace of beauty writ in verse
The same expressions that get me to chase
My own dreams when I feel I must converse
In silence through my mind's eye when it feels
That I have more to give than I can see
It would not be the same if as a seal
My heart was just too lost to pour out free
I doubt that I'd consider my worth when
The scene of everything would not inspire
My soul would be too empty to begin
That spark so it may build into a fire
I know that I would never be content
My days and nights would be my life's lament
