scavenger

i scavenge for a piece of me
through shattered reveries
for love so that i may be free
come scavenge for my soul with me
from where you haunt my aching heart
to where i'll always die
then scavenge for a way to part
away these tears i cry
what way is there i'm meant to be
when they can't understand
i scavenge for that piece of me
throughout these foreign lands
and crawl with hands leading the way
in hope to find my eyes
and when i do i'll search for you
beneath your sordid guise

broken

deprived of the enshrouding night
a reckoning of sorts slips through my fingers
'breathe' whispers my heart...'breathe'
the dreams i poured, now withered pages, pass through the wailing west wind
my soul is torrent, raped of all its mystique
i am broken.

The Ripple Effect

So my words travel through time's dimension
Deriving from every depth of my thought
With all I had learned deep in my essence

Oh I shall ripple the life I had sought

Euterpe's Blessing

of blood and ink and of my truest thoughts
that once revived my heart to bear this whole
when love was love and lover's never sought
'twas Euterpe who would vouch for my poor soul
she sent to me when I was but a child
and came to me within a dream, you see
across the moor, across the murky wild
my other half who waited there for me
and how I have embraced that very cause
to satisfy the soul of one who dwells
within my heart to intrigue all the laws
of love and of sweet poetry to tell
I found my love, my love found me alone
eternally she's all I've ever known

A Treasured Brilliance

i tremble at the thought that the ivory tower
of my brilliance, as wonderful as it may seem,
shall fall to a love that may turn sour
then agony will follow; all the while i dream
through and through and time again
that one whose beauty enraptures me
will not cause me an ounce of pain
but love me for an eternity

The Cup We Thirst

as tongues place themselves

in positions to create

awkward silences

that refuse to break

and all the things

that conjure

endeavors in the air

serve a bitter notion

simplicity is rare

complication is question

of reason to pursue

answers that

make no sense

and die untrue

throughout the ripples

of longing for the universe

to measure us by

the cup we thirst

'til time ticks away

and turns us to dust

  unto our final hours

into the earth's crust

and stars carry away

our memory in time

  to deem all the ways

we'd be immortalized

  'cause things like that

are in the nature of humans

unless we are but

creatures unproven

to worthiness

destined to lose throughout

the cost of things

we are without

and a poet's mark is

justified deep in

the thoughts that make

him passionate

same as a thousand

painters who

build like bricks

things to be expressed

beyond any word

for we long to be measured

by the cup we thirst

A Mind's Exorcism

For once, I do wish in sleepiness lost
Within seldom embrace of such content
Not ever to see, nor feel what had sought
Through what I do so awfully admit

As droplets of me do fail in the depth
And restlessness overcomes all my time
It seems I’m consumed by all I had kept
For always behind the doors of my mind

And away throughout the hours I’ve known
By day after night and always within
‘Tis as these words do reflect me alone
With so many things I’ve yet to undim

Unwinding my thoughts, foreseeing my way
As life does enter what I’ve yet to say

O Spare Me (Immortal Time)

O spare me immortal time
There is no righteousness in death
Intrigue the words I pour
By this humble man's request

To all who cross my path
In all the thoughts I verse
O spare me immortal time
Do quench my deepened thirst

I've learned to paint this life
Across every given day
Where you had thought to forth
To me a blessing's grace

I am thankful for my gift
But please when I do go
O spare me immortal time
Come veil my poet soul
