the burning of your embrace

Posted by Robert Anderson On Saturday, November 19, 2011 0 comments

such passion instilled
inside my needy heart remains
for the goddess who sought me out

dear beautiful queen
do you still remember the dawn
of this love?

i crave exuberantly
for life and light
and know it's there in the fragrant essence
of your arms

lose me there
and never allow me to breathe --
no breath, no, breath, no breath;
i only want to die
in the burning of your embrace

yearning the lure

i yearn the lure
as you wake me to dreams,
beckoning me and i am there
at your bidding

you're intoxicating, irresistible to
my every sense
oh, weave me your love,
spindle your lust
through those words that caress my soul

i believe in you,
consume me, bare to me your essence and
unclothe your soul

for you my belovéd
are all i honestly desire

Cask of Tears

she  sits
within a  cask
of tears

torn by the  revelations
of yesterday

she'll drown,  she'll drown
straining for an ounce of life
to  breathe

her pain swells
into  a murky shape
wrought by
her  every
silent  cry

and how she  feels
the very essence she wrote in blood
for him
poured  from a place
that she will never
escape

and  so
she dies in her  pain
knowing
he'll never love her
again

star-gazer

if the stars up high just disappear
to a destination unknown
and all of heaven declares us dead
then leaving us all alone
to where no chaos reforms its face
to where no dreams prevail
while a cloak of nothing embraces us
then I swear that I have failed
for what in life is worth that cost
if never fighting for
what truth believes in us when love
comes knocking at our door
 I adore your every breath
when you exhale and smile
no, the stars up high won't disappear
for fate is versatile

Life's Sedate

what pain of love within thy soul shall speak
whence tears as rain amid the crusted land
do soak and shallow 'neath thy beauty's peak
e'er faint and yonder from my gentle hand
while by that faithful take of breath thou poured
thou art is dimmed in spirit by thy fate
oh, bid me not as less than whom adored
thou beauteous dreams within thy life's sedate

Mirror

Unspoken through the echoing mind
And by the pen which strokes with ink
I breathe and attain her every beauty
While the desires within my heart awake
For what I long, I pray to touch
To be her life for always, I
Unmask the secrets in her soul, oh me
How I wish to kiss her lips tonight
And in love I am as the day I gazed
Within her eyes, how it made me tear
Blooming our fate to be together
Deep in our essence, we truly mirror

by the subtle affair i have with words

by the subtle affair i have with words
i walk the finest line between
a mortal death and a life within
a dream to last and last, it seems
my life in poetry remains
the only way i can escape
the weariest of all my thoughts
as i pour my ugliness, i take
and mold, and mold, and mold again
until my muse declares 'enough!'
my words in hope to breathe a verse
so beautiful it sings thereof
what circumstances i've endured
here in my heart, and mind, and soul
and oh, by this gentle affair
my thoughts will stay, they will not go
