Afterthought

embark with me but for today
through life and not apart
the things we are and how we're not
our souls that once were scarred

by doubtfulness in dreams we've lived
until we wake in dare
to prove we are still worth a moment
of chance 'til days we bear

the rhythm through all the beautiful
thoughts of how we feel
the yearning makes our hearts fonder
the heavens will conceal

another time beyond the faint
echo of our lives
to prove to us that what we are
is what we know inside
